Aloe Vera leaf has great skin moisturizing properties. Various readymade gels and skin care products are available in the market which uses aloe vera as their main ingredients. However, you can make your very own skin moisturizers using these leaves right at home and it is also quite easy.
Aloe Vera Moisturizer Using Virgin Oil
Cut up a large, succulent leaf of this plant and slit its surface open along its length. You may do this using a knife. Now collect the released gel in a bowl. Mix this translucent gel with one tablespoon of virgin olive oil and mix through stirring. Here is your skin moisturizer ready for use.
Keep this in a container and refrigerate to keep for regular use. If refrigerated, this moisturizer can be applied through the week. To apply it first of all clean up your face thoroughly by using gentle face wash and then pat dry with a soft towel. Now use your fingers to apply a thin layer on the whole surface of your face. Do this twice daily during mornings and evenings every day in order to get the desired benefits.
Aloe Vera Moisturizer Using Various Ingredients
For this preparation you will require aloe vera gel, with lanolin, beeswax, essential oils of your choice and extra virgin oil in addition to some rose water. First of all place the lanolin and beeswax in a micro oven bowl and heat for some time till the ingredients melt. Mix it up using a stirrer. In a separate bowl whisk together the aloe vera gel and the olive oil to form a uniform consistency.
Now add together the mixture from these two separate bowls- one containing the lanolin-beeswax combination and the other containing the whisked aloe vera gel with the virgin oil. Top it up with the rose water and an essential oil of your choice. Now use a flat spatula for vigorous stirring. This is necessary for the smooth, even application of the moisturizer.
Once you achieve a completely uniform paste, your aloe vera moisturizer is ready for use. This can be kept in an air tight and lidded container and refrigerated for over the time use. This moisturizing cream can be preserved for about a week.
For the application of this cream it is important to clean up your face thoroughly using gentle face wash and then pat dry. Now apply a skin toner. Once this initial skin care regime is achieved you can follow it up by the use of the aloe vera cream. The cream should be applied twice daily in the mornings and evenings. The benefits are escalated through regular and consistent use.
