This is the reason why grave diseases like the carcinoma of the heart tissue remain undetected in most cases making them fatal because when the right diagnoses is finally done it is already too late for the patient.

Another such procedure is angiogram that uses dye injection in the cardiac pathway to follow the cardiac mechanism and detect irregularities. Once the basic idea about the prevalence of heart cancer is acquired through above procedures the doctors may then decide to confirm or do further advanced testing using conventional carcinoma tests like biopsy etc.

Besides surgery the doctors may also resort to medications like anthracyclines, Rituxan and Herceptin or use of radiations to combat the development of the carcinogenic cells.
