July 1, 2009
Many of you cry out your hearts because you are having oily hair. However, in reality oily hair is a boon compared to that of dry and coarse hair. Dry hair is extremely unmanageable. Oily hair is the result of your active sebaceous glands. They secrete the oil in full force and thus, your hair goes oily.
The biggest disadvantage of oily hair is that it looks dirty and sticky in very short period of washing it. Research shows that people with finer hair follicles are more likely to have oily hair than those with coarser hair follicles.
Some of the important reasons of oily hair can be hereditary effects or hormonal fluctuations. Most often we say that too much of oily and greasy food can result in oily hair but in reality it is not so.
The best remedies for oily hair are as follows:
Shampoo: It is a good idea to shampoo your hair often if you have oily hair. In fact you can even shampoo your hair daily. This will keep your hair clean and fluffy. That is because oily hair attracts dirt and dust faster compared to dry hair and thus, it looses all its beauty quickly. In order to treat oily hairs always use a shampoo with an alkaline base, with a pH value above 6.7.
Lemon juice and vinegar: a solution prepared from diluted vinegar and strained lemon juice can work wonders for oily hair. It will help in regulating the oil secretion of the glands and will help your hair stay normal.
Beer: beer is a wonderful remedy for oily hair. It consists of drying agents and thus both conditions and controls the oil secretion of your hair.
Tea: another important substance that you can use to control the oil secretion level of your hair is tea. Prepare light liquor with tea and rinse your hair with it after applying shampoo thoroughly. Leave it for five to ten minutes and rinse it off properly to get the shine on your hair.
Brushing your hair: try to avoid brushing your hair too many times as this will aggravate the oil glands and they will increase their level of secretion.
