Uses Of Body Wraps
Body wraps are used for rejuvenating the skin, for removing the toxins from the body, to improve body circulation and relieve stress. All these benefits work towards losing the body weight thus they help in getting a better body shape. Though most of people go to the salons and spas to get the body wrap treatment in a professional manner but the result may vary from person to person. Actually it is not always possible to provide the body wraps which can cater to the needs of a particular person, a particular skin type and set of problems. So, if you could make your own slimming body wrap by customizing certain features then it could yield the best result.
Basic Components Of Body Wraps
All body wraps are made up of certain basic components and all of them can be customized so that these could be used for a particular skin type or to resolve a particular set of problems. These basic components are: Natural clay, certain minerals, Herbs, some moisturizing ingredients, essential oils and certain natural components. All these ingredients provide the essential nutrients needed for the skin and helps in breaking down the fat cells of the body thus they drain out the toxins through the lymphatic drainage.
Various Types Of Components
The clay base could be made of green clay, red clay or Fuller’s earth which is meant for different type of skin like normal, dry and oily skin respectively. The minerals to be used for making the body wraps can be Epsom salt or sea slat or Dead Sea salt. Each of these salts has its own advantages. There are various herbs which can be used as component of a body wrap and each one has a separate set of benefits. These herbs are Calendula, spearmint, parsley, chamomile or stinging nettle. A combination of these herbs can also be used. Moisturizing agents are goat’s milk, yogurt or lemon juice. The essential oils can be lemongrass, lavender, lemon, rosemary or spearmint. Aloe Vera gel or olive oil can be used as other natural additives to the body wrap.
Making And Application Of The Body Wrap
To make the body wrap boil 6 cups of spring or distilled water into a stock pot. Take each dried herb and grind them and add it to water. Then add two cups of clay, one cup of seaweed or kelp, the minerals, 1and ½ cups of moisturizing component, two teaspoonful of essential oil after cooling the mixture of water and herb. Add natural additives and blend it well and cool it. Dip cotton strips into this mixture and then wrap these around the body. Lie down and relax for some time. Take shower in lukewarm water after removing the cotton strips.
