Being a mother is like the dream come true for almost all women. The experience of giving birth to a new life is what makes women unique. Thus, it is your responsibility to take care of this new life that you bring to this world. However, nature also makes provision for that. The first few months of the infant’s food is provided to the mother internally in form of breast milk.
It has been scientifically proved that breast milk is always the best dietary option for a newborn. But today due to lack of time and other matters the mothers fail to provide enough supply of breast milk to their babies for sufficient period.
This is not right as breastfeeding is extremely important for both the health of the baby as well as the mother.
Importance of breastfeeding for baby:
The breast milk is the ultimate nutrition that the child gets. He lives on it. It is easily digestible as compared to artificial milk. It has very high nutritious values that will ultimately help the child to grow like high protein, sodium, potassium and will at the same time not affect his premature organs. Breast milk helps in building the immunity of the baby. The child is very likely to get prone to diseases like ear infection, cold, flu, respiratory problems, etc. Breast milk helps in combating such diseases naturally. It is said that children feeding on their mother’s milk are supposed to have stronger IQ than those feeding on artificial or formula milk.
Advantages of breast milk for mother:
Not only is breast feeding important for the baby but it is also equally essential for the mother’s health. Breast feeding your baby will help you to shed those extra calories that you have accumulated post pregnancy. Thus, breast feeding will help in reducing the weight of the mother. It also helps in developing a psychological bonding between the mother and the kid. Breastfeeding is important for the mother as it helps in reducing chances of ovarian, breast and uterus cancer. Breastfeeding helps in shrinking the size of the uterus that over grows during pregnancy.
