Treatment for Dandruff

Dandruff is the result of yeast like fungus that spreads very fast. It grows by feeding on the fatty oils secreted by the hair follicles of our scalps. Thus, it is likely that people with oily hair are more prone towards dandruff.

Keep your scalp clean: This is the biggest remedy of having control over dandruff. Always keep your scalp clean. Use shampoo on your hair on regular intervals. The best option is to shampoo your hair on every alternate day. This will help you remove the dust and dirt from your hair and your scalp will also stay clean.

Switch Shampoos: In order to get the effect it is important that you should switch your shampoo. Do not keep using a shampoo for a long period. If you see that your regular dandruff shampoo is not showing any result than you know that it is time to change it. This time when you are changing your brand check the ingredients of the product properly. Ingredients like salicylic acid, selenium sulfide, etc. are very effective for dandruff treatment.

Natural treatment: Squeeze out the juice of a lemon and apply it on your scalp cautiously. Leave it for a minimum period of 10 to 15 minutes and than shampoo your hair. This will help you to reduce the attack of dandruff on your head.

Stop Itching: Dandruff creates and irritating feeling on the scalp and it becomes really tough to resist from itching those effected areas on your head. However, it is important that you should control your self and stop scratching your scalp, as much as you can, in order to prevent unnecessary wounds.

Avoid gels and sprays: It is not a good practice to use gels, sprays and other sticky products when you are suffering from dandruff as this will increase the growth of dead cells.
